Add up the wattage of each of your components: then if it is less than 1,300 watts your OK.
My Bryston 4B-SST2 andBP-26, BP1.5, several digital components, and two powerline conditioners, uses an average of 600 watts. (this is the utility bill calculation with stereo on, but not always playing 24/7.
So 600 watts is well within a 13 amp circuit, and I have a LOT of stuff turned on and connected.

Total available watts from a 13 amp circuit is typically a little more.  If you have 120 volts on the circuit then watts available would be 13amps X 120volts = 1560 watts.

I'd say that if you don't go ape on the volume it should work.

I would calculate it as sum of idle power consumption of all components + 200 Watts musical power.

Sounds like you're in Europe. At 220V/13A it should work no matter what you do, blowing the roof included. Just connect them and enjoy.

I agree -- the 220V gives you more available watts: 220 X 13 = 2860 watts.  Crank up the volume!

Hi JL,nice to meet you.Do you run all your component with a dedicated 13amp outlet or you plug all into a power conditioner?Been looking at the Torus the other day ,pretty interesting.

Given a choice it would be ideal to power your amplifier with a dedicated 13amp outlet. I run all my electronics through the PS Audio Quintet Power Center. The Torus IS a very good option you can consider  :thumb:

I use the UK version.

Some prefer the US version as there is no fuse or ground to worry about in the power line.

Three of us in Singapore...

I have had problems in older flats.  The original spec for what was the Power Board in the 80's was for 48amp service to a flat - with aircons, an iron and the oven going, my Bryston would kick things over the edge.

Now when I go looking for a flat, I make a beeline for the breaker panel - if there isn't enough capacity, it doesn't matter how good the view is.

Yeah nice to meet you.I don't know about now, it could be 40-60 amperage per household.Even then I am getting my electrician to do a 16a or 20a dedicated line for the hifi need.and also rearranged the wiring in my db coz its a total messed with what the last electrian did. Also I am in a dilemma should I install the u.S or the u.k receptacle and plugs.

My was a after thought which is why I am considering the Torus. You think the Torus would make any diff if your have a dedicated power line to the system?
