These Bryston guys do not venture out.  I've told them many times about identical threads (like "good hirez downloads") I've run over on the HiRez forum, but to no avail.  They have their own 'what are you listening to now" called 'what are you currently listening to".       Oh well.

I'm sure alot of folks here venture out(I am one),
EX:looking to upgrade my cd dvd player a year or  so ago,
Had my eyes on a ARC CD-7(for quite awhile),compare 3 players,after 3-4 hrs listening to all three thru a ARC pre,I kept going back to the Bryston BCD-1 ,end of story .
Auditioned a ARC Ref -5(I liked alot)I have the Bryston BP-26,if I had a bit more room I'd have both.
Being a musician for over 40yr.I guess my system sucks ,lemme see I have some Bryston 28s,
7B-sst,4bsst,BDA-1(second guessing myself,which sounds better).
Oh a couple of Torus(s) blah,blah,blah.I'm if I hadn't been around music all my life I would not have
ended with almost all Bryston gear,as my dvd players  are a Arcam 139, and next week an Oppo-83 SE for Blue Ray.I even still listen to Am radio .

I do not enjoy venturing out at all.

I much prefer avoiding the light of day and staying in my dark basement either listening to music, conceptualizing, writing or watching original Star Trek episodes (no - I do not live with my parents and yes, I have kissed a girl). If it was not for my wife and Hector, I would have no friends at all. On rainy evenings, you will find me sitting out in my back yard enjoying the tempest.

I consider myself fortunate that my profession allows me to mostly work underground - it is extremely comforting and peaceful down there (except for certain things that want to do you grievous harm or kill you). My social interaction is very limited with the mainstream and mostly occurs over this site and one other. Delicious, all-encompassing introversion, a fragile, but sweet existence - truly a gift from the Gods.

The responses have been fun, but if you are asking seriously...well, AC is about open discussion on many different topics.  We've broken the discussions into Circles for many reasons, not the least of which is ease of use, followed by making sure we don't get redundant topics or too many repeat answers.  Keeping them in specific Circles also helps get experts/folks with specific experiences to chime in on his/her favorite topic.

It's a bit parochial to decide that any one Circle will "split off" and do their own thing.  You'd likely feel the same way if the Vinyl Circle asked what Bryston gear went best with a certain phono pre...and then had possibly inaccurate or more likely redundant information churned up, rather than just coming here and asking.  Makes no sense when we already have a Bryston Circle.   I know, as moderator of the HiRez Circle, I will make sure that no redbook or vinyl discussion occurs...that's for another Circle...I didn't politic to have a HiRez Circle only to address every subject outside my boundaries.

All that being said, the Bryston Circle is a great and loyal group.  I own Bryston gear over the years and have learned much from James and gang..  My comment that followed Chris's (Lonewolf) was just a jab about a couple of HiRez questions that arose that we'd already answered in our Circle.  No one here took the bait though.  No harm, no foul.  I tried to lighten it up with a smiley face..but..well...its the Internet.

Just listened to the first two shows (2-7-09 & 8-14-04) on the list you posted in full and glorious 16/44.1 flac.  Both were excellent performances and wonderfully recorded.     I'd definately want to give these two shows a listen over the mp3 samples.

First off, my respect goes out to James,(and others) for once again showing their  diplomatic leadership here.

 2ndly It was the Cowboy Junkies guy's personal, favorable opinion on Bryston.
He did not ask for any freebies of discounts, that was the demo guy asking for discounts. And Bryston didn't offer him a discount to 'like' the equipment, he liked it before any mention of favors. So there shouldn't be any discredit to Bryston for capitalizing on good PR. Keeps Bryston's advertising budget down, which reflects on the rest of us.

Trinity Session is one of my favorites.

'Lay It Down'  IMO is their best work, easily beating 'The Trinity Sessions'.  While not a 'great' recording for audiophiles who obsess over technicalities, it is a regale melodious feast.  The creative expression and execution on ‘Lay It Down’ is unmatched by their previous and successive work.  A must have for any Junkie fan.
