Actually I'm a 5th generation Yank with German, Scotch and Irish ancestry in equal measure (with a tad of Cherokee--native American--mixed in to round me out). And, if you want to avoid a third world European style socialist state, don't come here. Our new president is trying desparately to return us that status after 230 years. Thankfully we have Bryston to help us forget about it for a while so let's have an ebeer and celebrate your joining the Circle

hmm... not much dutch in that... maybe your ancestors lived close to the dutch border?
i am keeping an eye on the first somewhat black president (not meant in a racist fashion whatsoever, it is just the most visible difference in him and his predecessors) and i must say that there is a minor gap between his talking and his actions.
i certainly think his nobel prize was interesting, to say the least.
i would love to move to canada, i *so* want to get out of this place. i have lived and worked in toronto so i know (and fell in love with) the place, but alas, due to circumstances out of my control (something to do with a plane parked in a skyscraper), i could not stay then. james, if you happen to have a job for me (with some guidance i can do anything) please give me a call...
There are quite a few dutch people active at AC.
