Hi James-Wanted to ask about stands for the MB2's. Are you going to use the PMC stands or another brand like Sound Anchor, also the height of the stands?.

Thanks!

I have a pair of the 14 inch PMC MB2 stands and I am keeping my 20 inch IB2 Sound Anchor stands so I can run the comparison.

I liked the 20 inch stands on the IB2's because it put the mid a little above ear level so I will have to see where the 14 inch stand places the mids on the MB2.

Hi James, I don't believe there's an MB2 '+', so I'm thinking you must have acquired the regular MB2 speakers.

I would in fact be quite interested in hearing about how your speakers respond to different combinations of amps. You obviously have access to a far greater choice of amplification than the average user.

Activation would of course be the best way, but how would you go about it? Btw PMC use am 875HT amp for their regular MB2A, and I'm also interested in seeing if a passive with the new bigger square amps will approach the performance of the Active with the old, smaller 875.

Please let us know your thoughts once you've received the speakers.

Hi,

Your correct - there never was a MB2+ version.

So to clarify then James, you're buying the 'regular' MB2s (not the i's), correct?

Mr. H your room seems pretty decently sized as well as far as i saw in the photos. My comment was comparing my own room to James' set up above.

My cinema room is about 10 foot wide and 18 foot long ish.

The MB2's are about as large as you could get in a 5.2 ch system.

PMC's are very deep in size, I would like to see a "Tall" version, I think that would suit more rooms - But might not be acoustically practical.

Wierd how people read things in different ways - My comment was on its own and not related to your post. My poor use of English usually does not help !!!

James:

I think the drivers on the MB2 and IB-2 are the same except for the bass driver.
Were you missing the extra extension and levels of the MB2's bass ?
Or were you hoping  that the MB2's were the i-series which made you curious about
the new HF drivers ?

Hi Steve,

Yes I was just wanting more of the same and thought it would be interesting to experiment. The IB2's sound really good in my room and I am hoping the extra bass does not screw up the balance and the extra baffle size does not deteriorate the soundstage.
