I suppose that if I wanted to listen to some music in my car that I only had on LPs, this type of converter might be useful. Otherwise, I don't think that I would convert an analog source to digital to then convert back to analog (through one of my AVA DACs) to play on my home system. But you never know. If I had a second system, such as in my non-existent vacation home or my office (which could also become non-existent), this would potentially be very useful when the alternative would be to transport LPs to another location (like we did when we were younger, bringing LPs to parties, etc.). However, I don't know, even then, if I would use this enough to be cost and time effective.
With newer music, I buy the music on both CDs and LPs, when LPs are available. If not, I just buy the CDs. When I have both the LP and CD, I prefer to listen to the LP rather than the CD.
