I have B&W805s, HTM2D and 825(sub). Bryston SP1.7 and 9BSST. I had a lot of harshness in my system and tried everything from cables to speaker placement.  I decided to try room treatments and posted on the acoustic circle forum.  The guys on that forum know what they were talking about.  I went all out on the treatment and can tell you that it made a HUGE difference.  Harshness is gone, everything is focused  Here is my thread with pics.  I am very happy with my set up.  I went with GIK panels.  I posted pics of my room and everyone gave their opinion.  Here is the link:

Hope this helps

Thanks for the reply.

I had just finished my room......complete with carpet that went half way up the wall and can attest that it really does make a difference even when talking and playing my guitar.Since I don't have all the pieces yet I haven't heard my system. All in due time of course.
Will have to start over again in a new place soon taming the acoustics. No system can sound good if the room has major echo even when talking.
