I cant believe how good some of the shows sound. I think the early 70s shows have much better sound than the latter. Maybe because they were in more intimate arenas. idk. A lot of the later recordings sound hollow, earlier more organic. Thats just the recording quality as there were plenty o great shows. I see the 1977 show, I will def get that one. Any other later shows with better than avg sound?Mike
heysome of the best sounding stuff you can find out there are the 6-14-85 thru 6-17-85 shows(20th Anniversary) out west. they have some of the best low end on them. phil's bass will rattle your walls.the old stuff is cool but as technology went digital in the 80's some of the master's are just unbelievable.

This one is a must have. It's a matrix recording, which means it's part audience recording and part soundboard. It has very good sound quality. The 5-8-77, Barton Hall show is considered one the best shows by many. It is known for its Scarlet Begonias -> Fire On The Mountain, which is most definitely very sweet. I personally think the whole show is excellent. Hope y'all enjoy this. It appears to be very well seeded, so download time should be minimal.QuoteGrateful DeadBarton Hall, Cornell UniversityIthaca, NYMay 8, 1977Jerry Garcia - Lead Guitar, VocalsDonna Jean Godchaux - VocalsKeith Godchaux - KeyboardsMickey Hart - DrumsBill Kreutzmann - DrumsPhil Lesh - Electric Bass, VocalsBob Weir - Rhythm Guitar, Vocals*40th Matrix*----------------------------------------------------SBD (shnid=4982):Betty Board -- Master 7" Nagra reels 1/2 track @ 7.5ips>Sony PCM 501. OK - I downloaded Transmission on my MAC and then began downloading from bt.etree. After downloading for a few hours it stopped. Am I doing something wrong? I figured the best way to learn how do do this and how it all works is to jump right in.Thanks - Todd
