hehe.. I know I keep checking and they keep moving the date back. Personally I think its silly that its a touch screen that will be nowhere near me, in my rack. But it will play the hirez and work with remote. Ill be able to see the album covers too which will be nice.

This is one of the better quality freely-traded shows in circulation that I made reference to some while ago.  Well, a new transfer is now in circulation, which is a straight transfer from the master reel.  I thought I'd share this info with you guys, because the new transfer is absolutely stunning in its sound quality.

Check it out.

And, for you 24bit guys, there is a 24/96 version for your listening pleasure.  If you have the capability to listen to both the 16bit and 24bit, I'd love to hear your impressions of the two.

I am trying to download this show, but some of the tracks are showing up as from other bands...any ideas?

I am using the Bit Torrent 6.4 client.

Odd. The client used shouldn't matter. However, I downloaded the show yesterday using Transmission, with no problems. I'm moving on to uClient, because it seems like it has less resource overhead.

Thanks for the heads up on the 2/70 shows and gdvault.com, after a couple dry runs I'm downloading shows and having a blast.

Listening to 2/14/70 right now and it sounds damn fine!

George, I'm sorry.  I have no idea why that would be happening.

Listened to the 24-bit version of the 1971-04-26

For the uninitiated: Bad night for everybody's vocal mics, except Pigpen. Offset by very good performances from Pigpen, and Duane Allman being part of the second set.

Yes it does!  :D That show just had it's 40th birthday. Tried on Valentines Day to listen to it.  :nono:  The wife shot that down pretty quick.

George, I'm sorry.  I have no idea why that would be happening.

Well, maybe I was hallucinating, because all is well now.

I downloaded four shows in 24/96:

7-29-74 Landover, MD
6-28-74 Boston, MA
4-28-71 Fillmore East NY. NY
4-29-71 Fillmore East NY, NY

So far I have only listened to parts of each show (to make sure everything worked properly), but what I heard sounded very good.

George,

Are the sources on the Landover & Boston shows soundboards? The only 24-bit transfers I see for those shows are sourced from audience tapes.

Correct, they came from audience tapes.

For audience tapes I thought they sounded pretty good.  Definitely not at the same level as a sound board feed.

Cool. Thanks, George. For what is (in my opinion) near the top in Quality GD Audience Recordings (as well as being a really good show), check out 17 June 1975. The best version of Peggy-O you will ever hear, along with one of the best Help On The Way/Slipknot! > Franklin's Tower.

Will do.

Thanks for the recommendation.

Peggy-O happens to be one of my favorite songs.   :thumb:
