need to fix the link its broke
Let me see if i get this right, I send you my cd and for $50 you do some voodoo magic to it and burn it to a black cd-r. Is that the gist of the situation or do you sell software to do this?ED
What are you doing that George Louis's RealityCheck cd replicator isn't? (You are charging 10x what he charged. ) Where are the reviews, feedback, etc? Why would an audiphile send you 3X the msrp of the actual cd without some sort of understanding of the value proposition and industry proof that it works? Please advise. Thx
Black CD burning is nothing new, I built a rig off e-bay to do my own discs in 2003 or so based on Gary Koh's white paper. I think I paid about $200 for everything. It would have been less but I bought separate drives for ripping and burning. The most expensive blanks I know about are the Matsui Golds at about $85 for 100. These are archival quality with 100-year lifespan. This doesn't sound like a big deal until you have numerous burned CDs in your collection which won't play anymore. The normal ink doesn't live forever, many blanks don't last 5 years. Memorex blacks which are the most common in the US run about $25/100. Gary's "last" revision on the paper (from 2004):
I use a PC based music system so I would not be on the tour unless you think that a ripped black CD has the same positive attributes as the same disk in a CD player.Wayne
We will consider the idea of an AudioCircle tour. Thank you all again for thoughts, feedback, interest, and/or orders!
Are you going to the RMAF with your disks? Seems like a good place to spread the word with some demos.I think a lot of AC members will show up in SP Tech Room 1004 at the Marriott.

I don't understand...to have 50 cd's undigitized costs $2250, and what you get is copies of the 50 cd's that sound better? added: never mind, I read the site a little more and I get it. I do find it curious that in the testimonial section, someone says that you usually only get this kind of quality with a really top notch DAC. I find it curious, because for the price of copying all my cd's, I could actually buy a top notch DAC that has some resale value.Quote from: undigitize on 5 Oct 2008, 09:10 pmWe will consider the idea of an AudioCircle tour. Please do...especially since it should cost you just about nothing. We're a cheap and skeptical bunch, it would help your cause here a lot.
