Quote from: PaulFolbrecht on 25 Jun 2008, 07:51 pmSpeaker of the wall-to-conditional cord - I am using VH Flav 4 cords on all my gear, except for the wall-to-Haley which is (was) a $60 PS Audio cord (very very nicely built for the money, BTW).Last night I had over an audio guest, who happens to be a reviewer for one of the larger online sites. He brought over a $300-$400 Wireworld cord and suggested I try it wall-to-conditioner. Well, it smoothed everything out - noticeable difference. So, this cord definitely matters.Having owned a Haley for quite a number of years, I have tried numerous cords on it.The top three are:Black Sand Statement OneBlack Sand Silver Ref Mk VVH Audio AirsineIf those are too costly, at least throw a VH Audio Flavor 4 on the Haley.George

Chris VenHaus Cryoed Flavor PCs as follows:Flavor 4s to each of my Odyssey Extreme Monos;Flavor 2 on the Tempest preamp; andFlavor 1 on the Jolida JD-100 cdp.All the above treated with Walker Super Silver Treatment (SST) Contact Enhancer - makes a wonderful, positive difference in my system, to my ears.YMMV.
I have used the VH cords and can vouch they are very nice sounding, especially when used on your digital sources.I am surprised no one has mentioned PS Audio, their cords are really nice for the price due to their large production numbers and their IEC plug has the tightest grip out there which makes them a pain to hook up but they never ever come loose.

I think the eval done here confirmed to me that they were in fact not the top of the heap when it came to the sound. But I agree they grip tightly. http://www.head-fi.org/forums/f22/its-done-power-cord-shoot-out-22-power-cords-reviewed-219297/
Yeah for me they were thin in the sound area. Certainly sexy though.I'm trying to get a Xandak gold PC to try. But all this PC play has been a result of me running out of things to tweak. I never thought I'd be playing with power cables. No hope for me, probably myrtle blocks next.
Big Red, the Xindak is a very good, "huge bang for the buck" power cable. I use one on my Modwright cdp. However, be aware that many (most?) of them have reversed polarity, i.e. the hot is neutral on the IEC end, and vice versa. To me it doesn't matter since I am running it from a balanced power supply (a PS Audio PS300; 60vac on each leg).Quote from: Big Red Machine on 27 Jun 2008, 11:05 pmYeah for me they were thin in the sound area.
