I'll share a few comments from a new SP Tech owner.....

About his speakers.....
Quote
..my life has changed forever - I can't believe how absolutely fantastic they sound (but then you already know that)

Quote
It sounded like my drummer friend Jeff was in the room playing his kit - I have never heard any stereo sound so much like live acoustic music. All the timbers, decays, attack - right there.

Quote
I am a musician so I have always depended on in ear monitors and headphones for critical listening since I have never heard a speaker that can make acoustic instruments and voice sound the way they sound in person (until now!!!).

He seems very happy with his purchase.... 8)

My name is Micke and I live in Sweden.

Welcome to the SP family.

Can you tell me what you think about the speakers please

Quite simply, they are amongst the speakers that are the finest on the planet - price is no object.  Here 'finest' means accurate.  And of those in that class, they offer fantastic cost/performance - perhaps the best of any speakers.  IMHO for what you get, they are a friggen bargain.  The engineering that goes into them is second to none.

Thanks
Bill

Hey Micke - I am the proud new owner of a pair of SP Tech Continuums that Lonewolfny quoted above, and I will say it again here, they are nothing short of phenomenal. Really, it is impossible to describe - you have to experience it. I have played music for many years in many situations - both live in everything from small clubs to large concert halls and in recording studios and have never before heard sound reproduction this accurate to the real thing. I just got these so it has been a revelation , and I am going back through my collection playing stuff I hadn't listened to in a long time. For example right now I am listening to The David Grisman Quintet. When I close my eyes they are here in the room with me playing, David just in front and to my right, Tony Rice in the middle, Darol to his left and a little behind - you get the idea. When Jason first cranked them up he played the Sheffield drum test disc - (I have a very nice drum kit in my music room) - and I swear I thought my drummer was here playing his kit! I love these speakers. One thing that is very important to know - if it doesn't sound incredible look at the signal path. These speakers reveal absolutely everything. Jason set these up for me with his rig first, which was his laptop playing windows media files out to a hagusb to an Orpheus DAC then to Nuforce amps. We switched in my amp and it still sounded great, but my CDP and Preamp are not giving me quite what we had before so I am looking at DAC's. You should get a very 3D Holographic sound and full on dynamics - what happens to me is that when I listen with my eyes closed I get a 3D image of the players right in front of me - theres even a lot more to it than that but I will have to give it more thought to attempt to describe what I hear and see - I'll try to right up a more coherent insightful review in a few days in another thread. The other thing important to know here is that the speakers I bought are the original Continuums (Jason's personal speakers - he is building some new ones for himself) about four years old I guess - and they have the original Vifa tweeter and xovers. These speakers are two(? - or more) generations removed from the current design. Jason says the current design sounds considerably better (wow!)  I plan to upgrade to the new scanspeak tweeter and Mundorf xover after I have some more listening time in with these.

Wow... it sounds like you and I have had very similar love-at-first-listen experiences, rms.

FWIW, I suspect Bob would be most pleased if you were to post a review in the SP Tech and Speaker Reviews circles.  You could even copy/paste the comments you made to Chris, or mix and match from the comments to him and those you wrote here.  Either way, it's sure to be a terrific review!  :D
