The DNA-500 is already a great amplifier but with Steve McCormack's mods it will be the ultimate!

Pat,

Thanks for the nice comment. I thought I would try and get the amp to you by Xmas. You're going to have a killer system; true high end. I hope you enjoy the McCormack as much as I did. I thought a dedicated 20 amp electrical socket made a significant improvement over the standard room outlet. I look forward to your review of how the McCormack sounds with the Revs.

Enjoy,

:D  hey Joe,your welcome. It seems to me one of the Eighth Wonders of the World how you handled this transaction.Without payment you sent off the product to another country, and a total 'who the heck is that guy' stranger.Man,that does not happen every day,it was a real breath of fresh air.A wonder-world where everyone can trust again, totally cool.I haven't dealt too much gear, but this trade had some 'Santa Dust' on it for sure.I will have the amp before the speakers by two or three weeks, looks like i may have to recommission the B&W 802's for awhile.----Also,on the wire side, what did you use for a pwr cord?? and yes the amp will have a 20A dedicated outlet. Merry Christmas everybody.... :D

VH Audio AirSine or Black Sand Statement One would sound pretty darn good!!

If you need to come down a little in price, you can go with a Black Sand Silver Ref MK IV.

Don't forget the DNA-500 requires a power cord with a 20 amp IEC end (all horizontal blades).

Standard 15 amp IEC ends are all vertical pins. The 20 amp IEC connector is a much better connector overall.  Most power cords will have the option of being terminated with a 20 amp IEC end so no worries.  Some of the "boutique" IEC ends are only available in 15 amp versions however.

This is true, as is George's assertion that Black Sand PCs should be wonderful.  After auditioning a pair of John's PCs, I switched from a higher-priced brand I'd been using for 2 years.  The improvements were readily evident across the board.  Here are the comments I made even before replacing all my PCs.

I'm currently using Statement Ones on all my equipment, but the Silver Reference Mk.Vs are exceptional cords at a much lower price point.  If you have any doubt, begin there and move up later if so inclined.

Enjoy, Pat.  I think you're pretty well set!  :thumb:

Pat,

I had a 20A Harmonix X-DC on my DNA500 with decent results.  It was a little brighter and more forward sounding than my Black Sands when I've compared on my other gear.  Unfortunately  I didn't have the BS cords back when the DNA was around my place so can't compare on that particular amp for you.  I bought mine from MarkR7 who used the DCCA Reference on it back then and seemed to like that as well.  I know he tried quite a few so you might PM him.

Should be a really happy New Year there at your place.  I'd bet the DNA and Revelations are going to make great music together!
