Jazz and otherwise.Other than- Eva Cassidy- Holly Cole- Ella- Pat Barber (!)Who else might I want to look in to??
Permit me to tack on a little info to Pete's recommendations. Blue, by JM, has been remastered from the original tapes by Steve Hoffman and re-released by Acoustic Sounds. This dude is Mr. Reliable. About thirty bucks, I think, but it's on improved 180 or 200 gram vinyl. The Alison Krause album that's gathering all the audiophile praise is a 2 disc set, I believe, and I can't think of the name of it. Perhaps, Pete, or someone, can tell us both. I believe that this is available from Classic Records. Also, 180 or 200 gram vinyl and just as expensive.
Pauly- Saw that just the other day on cable. To this day, that sucker is a laugh a minute. Forkin hilarious.
Peter- Was that a new copy of Heart Like A Wheel? Ever hear Kate and Anna McGarrigle sing that? Which reminds me . . THAT, too, is also a great recording (self titled on Warner Bros records)!Pauly- Saw that just the other day on cable. To this day, that sucker is a laugh a minute. Forkin hilarious.
Wasn't that Kareem Abdul Jabar? Pauly? Thank's Pete. I'm down for that after I listen to my old copy to make sure I still love it.
