Randy, please confirm the content of fields in the compression area of your EAC setup as per following....
In EAC, select EAC, then Compression Options, then the External Compression tab.
Fields should read like this ...
Use external program for compression: tick this.
Parameter Passing Scheme: select User Defined Encoder.
Use File Extension: type in .flac (ensure you insert the dot before flac).
Program, including path, used for compression: type in c:\program files\flac\flac.exe (use the Browse button here to ensure the correct path and select the flac.exe file).
Additional Command Line Options: -8 -V -T "artist=%a" -T "title=%t" -T "album=%g" -T "date=%y" -T "tracknumber=%n" -T "genre=%m" %s
Bit Rate: select 320 kbit/sec
Then tick the boxes for Check For External Program Return Code and High Quality.
Click on OK.
OK, now select EAC Options from the EAC main screen, then the Tools tab. Tick the box next to 'On extraction, start external compressors queued in the background'. Enter the value of 1. Ensure the box for 'Do Not open External compressor window' is NOT ticked. Tick the box for 'Submit drive features after detection'. Ensure the box for 'Activate Begginer mode, disable all advanced features' is NOT ticked.
Click on OK, then click on the Save button on the main EAC screen.
Close EAC, then restart EAC.
Now rip a CD using the MP3 button on the EAC main screen. Use one you haven't ripped before.
At the end of each ripped track, EAC should open a DOS box that will start compressing the ripped track with Flac. At the bottom of the EAC screen, it should say 'x compressions remaining'. You should not get any errors popping up if it compresses OK.
Once the CD is fully ripped and the compressions have completed (ie. it no longer says 'x compressions remaining' at the bottom of the EAC screen), use File Explorer to go to your Music Library folder and ensure that the tracks from the new CD are there. Select one, look at its properties to ensure that it is a Flac file.
If so, then rescan your library in SlimServer. Once that has fininshed, check to see if the SB3 reports the tracks as Flac files.
Let us know how you go and we'll work from there. Don't worry mate, we'll get you there.
