I think an inert material is key...but I plan to do something never done before in audio design...

Oh, well that's easy. Fuzzy dice!  :green:

I've never had any formal training in design, but I love doing it just the same. Look forward to seeing what you come up with.

Haha, well I'll tell you this much...I will communicate with Nicholas and work something out. Then, he and I would work together on research and development and when there's something to show, we will.

Same here.

Well, if he's half as good as he claims to be, I'm bettin' he'll eventually come 'round to the the fuzzy dice. It's perfect. They're very intert with good damping properties, it's something that's never been done before in audio design, and they're such an iconic image everyone will immediately identify with them. Like I said, it's perfect!  :green:

Oh boy that was a nice system! I really like those ebony knobs, the bring a kind of "class" into the equation - don't you agree? How is the gain working out, is it quiet enough at -48dB?

Rollo, the amps are Bel Canto Orfeo's 845 SET's and sources are Thorens TD124 MK II and Parasound CDP-2000...great stuff! speakers are JBL L96, edgarhorns or EV12trxb's.

well, I must say after a couple of hours...jimneycrickett!!!

Its basically the best pre I have heard to date/ The transparency, effortlesness, quick snap of snare, big tuneful bass, with great ambient info coming thru..I tested with Brian Bromberg's WOOD CD and Bromberg and japanese drummer Akira Jimbo in Brembo.

I am actually stoked as well because I never had my JBL L-96's sound so good...it kinda gives me a glimpse at how good these speakers are.

Whitese, you have a very classy looking system there. I'm sure it must sound fantastic!

Did you notice much change at all, with the two isolation platforms under the TVC?

You gave away the goods too soon Steve! Now everyone's going to start doing the fuzzy dice thing! :D :D

Hello,

I put my TVC on two maple wood (one large and one small sizes) platforms with three Shun-Mook Malpingo discs in between as footers. My musics sound with mellow big soundstage, musical and a lot of details. How about yours Whitese? Is your a Reference one? How are the differences between both? Thanks.

Regards,
Tan

I must confess that I put the wooden blocks just because I have them...but I dont think I listen carefully enough to hear a difference....

Whitese: thanks for the pics but I was wondering what is the switch for at the back? Also, what are the top and bottom plates?

The switch is to toggle between inputs.

Yes, the toggle switch is for inputs..the dual outputs are always on..meant for biamping.

Whitese,

The innards look more refined than mine. The wires are tied and in order. There also is some type of damping inbetween the trannie and bottom plate. An improvement for sure.If you think it sounds good now,in 400HRS your going to be thrilled.Happy listening.
