Can someone tell me the correct way to solder components to a pre-stuffed pcb?

(another question)

If the leads of the components are too large to fit in a thru-plated holes, is there an acceptable method to attach additional components to the leads of other components?

Thanks for taking the time to read my post

You can solder a strand of wire to the bottom/top of the board and then solder your component to the wire strand on the other side of the board. As for component lead being too large for a plate through board  , that's a tough one. Being brave, you could enlarge the hole,(losing the plate through and do the wire strand trick to the next connection), or run a jumper wire from one side of the board to the other.

I've had excellent results enlarging existing holes by using the micro drill bits I found at a local hobby shop / model train store.  They also had a selection of micro hand drivers... just take it slow and easy and you won't disturb the pad!

I agree, just be careful you start with a small bit that will not grab and lift the pcb trace.  Been there...
