Chris at Timbernation might need a little support from his friends and supporters, he has suffered a great loss.

I know some of you here know Chris, and I recieved the following message from Scott Mayo, who knows him.

Quote
Some folk here may have dealt with Chris at Timbernation - he does
woodworking, and has a line of amp and turntable platforms and tables.
Well regarded work, nice guy.

We don't live in a nice world. A third-offense DUI driver killed his
daughter two weeks ago, and he's in a world of pain. Old customers might
want to check in with him and offer sympathy. -Scott

While it is always difficult to know what to do at times like this, a little friendly supportive contact might go a long way.  Especially since I have heard Chris is a great fellow.

Most importantly, I offer my sincerest condolences to him and his family.  As a parent, I can't imagine anything worse than to lose one of my children, and we can barely imagine what he must be going through right now.

I hope more people will join me in asking our state legislators to enact legislation that makes cimes like this - where a drunk driver kills someone - an intent-based crime (2d or 3rd degree murder) rather than the lesser-included offense of manslaughter.  In the alternative, make vehicular manslaughter statutes carry a penalty harsher than any other form of manslaughter.  Clearly the current penalties are not harsh enough to stop people from drinking and driving.

Chris,

My sincerest condolences.  While there can't be any real justice for this type of tragedy, I hope the bastard gets nailed on the murder charge.

Chris, I am so sad for you and your family.  Think about contacting MADD for help in nailing this guy and getting better laws and inforcement.

After reading the article, I don't know if I am more sad or mad. I know there is plenty of both.

We as audiophiles and music lovers look upon our equipment with an emotion beyond that understood by the average guy - And now I'll forever look upon my Timbernation products in a new way, with an even deeper feeling for the personal craftsmanship from which they were rendered.

My best thoughts for your family, Chris.
