Now that all of the surgeries on the 626r's is complete, what is the reccomended way to clean the high gloss MLS cabinets without scratching them, etc. I have read that just soap and water is the best way, but I wanted to be certain before starting.
Thanks!
I'm not at all surprised by the advise to use soap and water. My family has worked in the auto repair business for over 4 generations. They most commonly recommend a mild solution of dish soap and soft water when cleaning automotive finishes. Typically these finishes are topped with a clear urethane (clear coat) that tends to show fine line scratches easily, so proper cleaning is of upmost importance if you want to maintain a showroom shine.
OTOH, auto finishes are highly durable, and I can't say the MLS top coat is equally durable. Your best bet is to ensure you use a very soft, lint free cloth. Cotton diaper cloth is a good suggestion.
I'm adverse to most of the cleaning recommendations listed so far, on the notion that they involve adding a foreign substance to your finish. These are far more likely to react with the finish in an adverse way, as compared to plain old soap and water.
Good luck.
