OK, guys, I've only had the T-8 in my system for a couple of hours, but on the basis of what I've heard so far, this is a copy of the letter I just e-mailed to Frank--
Dear Frank et al:
Wow!
First, the new Longhorn. I had all but given up on some of the older records that had belonged to my late brother and me. The electric organ on my old Mancini mono "Mr. Lucky" used to sound like shattering glass. Ditto the loud brasses and strings on my brother's mono Morton Gould "Wagon Wheels." I concluded years ago that it was because we had ruined them with the rusty nails and thumb tacks we used to play them with. With my new Longhorn the only way I could tell they weren't brand new was the occasional tick, pop, or scuff they had acquired over the last 40-45 years.
Now to the T-8. I know that "Wagon Wheels" record so well, I can play much of it in my head from memory. Tonight I heard things on it I'd never heard before. Ambience and studio sounds, a buzzy string on the bass viol, the difference between the harp and the banjo. I haven't had time to try all my sources yet, but I'm looking forward to many hours going through everything in our collections.
God bless you and thank you, thank you, thank you!

OK for starters?
