I don't get it.....don't you have enough inputs anyhow that this would not be a problem? For instance just run analog to tape or cd input instead of dvd or tv......Seems silly of jvc to do this...and really odd.....

Can someone please explain which one is supposeldy better, the F10 or the 201/301? What is this non digital/analogue thing everyone is talking about?Pardon my ignorance, but i'm learning just as well.
I think one feature the f10 has over these new receivers is the 5.1 inputs. it allows you to bypass all the dsp and only use the amplification-the reason why we're all interested in it in the first place. JVC made a mistake by not adding this to the new lineup imo.

It seems it comes down to whether you want DPIIx or not, the number of digital inputs, and the type of speaker terminals. F10=3 digital inputs w/spring clips. 201=2 digital inputs w/spring clips. 301=3 digital inputs w/binding posts and spring clips. I've been looking at all these too, and I'm thinking the F10 will work best for me. Now to convince my wife we need one. I have a Panny XR10 and love it. I'm wondering if someone has both- how do they compare? Specifically power and sound on movies. By the way, the xr10 and f10 can now be had for about $150 before shipping. They're definitely good deals.

Hello- I currently have the Xr70, the JVC RX-ES1SL, and the Xr10 that I just bought on Ebay. The Xr10 was a factory sealed box for a "Buy It Now" price of $150.00. I am so blown away at the sound and construction of the Xr10. The JVC is better than Xr70 sound wise but neither can match the Xr10. This long winded preamble is to ask you if you would send the interier views of any XP series especially the Xr10 I would really appreciate it. I enjoyed your post on the XP10, the best I have read. Thanks H. Gallie
Flyman, this might help you. Somebody over at AVS forum sent me an opinion between the xr10 and jvc es1sl back in march. :I also have the xr10, and can tell from internal pictures of both the f10 and xr10 that the xr10 is much better assembled than the f10. Soundwise I have no idea, as I never had the f10. Gallie's opinion leads me to believe that the JVC sound quality is more of a side step than an uprgrade. But, if you are looking for more features I would look into getting the f10 or 301.
tschanrm and hershey, thanks for the replies. I'm mostly interested in listening via digital inputs. I'm thinking of replacing the XR10 with the F10s solely for the increase in digital inputs. But, I'm worried that I won't like the sound of the F10s as much. If I can get one brand new for $150, do you think it's worth it? How do you like the auto speaker setup feature (clap your hands), the digital equalizer, and the All Channel Stereo modes - Are they all hokey or are they worthwhile? It seems the d ...
I sent an email to JVC customer support asking them for any information about design choices that would lead to the new 201 sounding better or worse than the F10. I sent this about 3 months ago and JVC never responded.
