OK, who swiped the Hevia disc? Own up before we start gathering a posse. :P

Seriously though, that's a shame, I would really have loved to hear what you guys had to say about Hevia. Please look over your discs, he was obviously exchanged.

Cheers,
DVV

There was no Hevia in the box when I got it.

Not sure what happened to the Hevia but the Built to Spill was different. Not really to my taste but it's the first time I have heard a heavy electric version of Vince Guaraldi's "Linus And Lucy".  :D

Mike

I dropped that disc in there.

I got it at some party I was at a few months back. Took me a while to drop it in a player. I didn't much care for it. But I didn't listen to much more than the first minute or so of a track or two.

I figured I'd never bother with it again. And rather than toss it I'd drop it in the box w/the Dezorel as there wasn't anything else in there.

If one of you likes it I certainly don't mind if you keep it...

Yes, I have it. Recieved the Dezoral Mon. aft. Haven't had a chance to try it yet, I just plugged a light into it to make sure that the light didn't blow up-it didn't :)  I'm going to pull the lid off and have a look inside this aft. and will start listening to it in different applications. I'll finish with it asap and notify the next in line for shipping instructions.

There's not all that much to see inside... just a sealed brick (the filter), a fuse/switch and wires from the inlet to the filter to the outlets.  What I'd be curious about is what is inside the brick!  Its gotta include at least 1 capacitor, as it was a Wima cap that blew in the first review unit.

Nice to know it didn't get hung up in customs. I am surprised it reached you that quickly as I shipped it Saturday. Did you have to pay any duty on it?

No, no duty! I too was suprised when my wife called me on Mon. to say that a parcel had arrived from the states. Don't really want to comment on the Dezoral with the limited listening that I have done with it in my system yet, but I think I may have let some of the fairy dust out when I took the cover off.

O.k, I'm finished with the Dezoral; Who's up next? It would be nice if I could send it to JoshK first and then on from there, as that would sort of split the shipping distance in half. But, I'll send it to the next in line if necessary.

Yes, I certainly will. Unfortunately, I'm on call this weekend and I'm getting called out enough to piss me off.  :x. I'll share my views as soon as I get the chance.

I'd agree, would probably be cheaper for you, but you'd need to ask Briley if he was cool with dat.

O.K, here are my experiences with the Dezoral:
Main system: QDS-15 CDP>diy silver ic's>Decware ZTpre> diy silver ic's>Odyssey Dual Mono>2xKimber4tcbi-wire>Soliloquy5.3. After market pc's,(Groneburg&Absolute), plugged into Panamax power strip.

First up was power strip plugged into DZ. Didn't like this-the sound was thinner with less overhang on notes-especially piano. I have a mild 60hz. hum that can normally be heard when I bring my ear whithin 6" of the speak driver. With everything plugged into the DZ, this actually got louder-I could here it 10" away :?: .
Next was the cdp plugged into the DZ. The hum went back to being audible @ 6" and closer. The sound was pretty much the same as with no DZ except a very slight extention in the highs. This was good, but nothing to get excited about.
Next was the pre and the DZ. This proved to be the best combination. The vocals were slightly more realistic and the bass a touch cleaner. Again not anywhere near approaching drastic-in fact barely subtle.
I should mention that I have a dedicated circuit for my equip. and the breaker panel is only about 15' away behind the rec. room wall,(maybe 20'-25' of 12g wire total). Then I put the DZ into the upstairs system-the wifes' :) . This consists of a 32' tv,digital cable box, vcr,Panasonic 32dvr dvd, cica 1980's Harmond Kardon tuner, Cambridge Audio C500 pre and a  Circa '80's NAD 2140 amp and my 2-way diy speaks with Audax drivers. All is plugged into some no-name power strip with a decent gauge cord on it. The power strip was plugged into the DZ. This proved to be the most noticable improvement. The colours were just that much better on the tv and dvd movie. Bass was tighter, and best of all when playing music on the dvd, I actually got a phantom centre image! This doesn't normally occur because of the poor set-up of the speaks, (sandwiching the tv AND in the corner).
Conclusion:
Not really worth while in terms of $ for the main system, but maybe for the second system. (Although the DZ is close to double the cost of my diy speaks. Value: 5  Performance 6.5.

Great Mark!  Your experience seems to indicate that the DZ is effective and makes a contribution where power quality is not so good, i.e. in your upstairs system, rather than in your main system which you have hooked up to a dedicated line.  I do wish I had a dedicated line.  We did try Guan's DZ both connected to his dedicated line and to a normal outlet.  We heard a difference but clearly the dedicated line helped a lot.

I'm trying to contact Briley, but so far no luck. If I haven't heard from him by the end of tomorrw, I think it's only fair to pass it on to Josh. What do Y'all think?

There are only 3 auditioners left, unless someone still wants to sign up.
