Well hello to all BDP veterans,
Just added BDP2's to my setups and I'm really impressed
with the level of step up in SQ vs my MACBook pro running JRiver.
As I watch for long time posts here and on Roon forum of BDP veterans I choose not to jump
full head down and load all my library on the BDP2.
I made some tumb drive (and doing some more) with small batch (30 album each)
Of chosen groups and artist that I like to hear with no compromise on SQ.
And starting my way like so.
Not rushing, I have my Mac and JRiver still connected to my BDA3 and all my archive
Is fix there spot on,all with album covers and Metadta.
Most of my albums on the new tumb drives that I prepare for the BDP2
, load well to the MM and the few that were not
I will erase later for re tag or convert to other format and load again.
It is kind of pain in the... but the sound just win it for me.
As I said I'm in no rush I already have enough verity of what to listen,
As I'm catching up and follow every day a bit more.
Reading all the posts regarding the Roon and the squeezelite I became curious if there is any advantage
for using this, compare to Roon direct to BDA3 via USB???
If not what the point of the squeezelite and BDP in the chain?? (Lol catching up with Those therms give me headache)
Does the BDP provide kind of blockade to the noise generate from the computer/cpu/ Becouse
It's receiving the data on the CAT6 cable or what?
Now I discover that the sound of the BDP / MPD is just amazing to my ears
And understand I wouldn't like to sacrifice it for
The browsing side of the music.
I can always turn the Mac for browsing and playing casual if I choose.
I may keep the Mac with JRiver ( or Roon maybe ) for handling the library and keep
Running selected tumb drives (selection that will grow with time!)
to the BDP until (if) the real deal (RAAT or BRIDG)
Will show up.
But this squeezelite/BDP vs direct computer to BDA over USB interested me,
I may try it for myself but from thechnical point of view can someone explain what's the advantage
Of one over the other and why?
Your excuse for wrong language phrasing
