MEMO: To All Bryston Customers
SUBJECT: Bryston Montreal Show 2016

DR Acoustics exhibited alongside the Quebec dealer Audition Veritable, which demonstrated a nearly all-Bryston system, built around the Bryston Model T loudspeaker.

I had heard that speaker once before, at SSI, and thought it a little too bright for my tastes—but here, it sounded very well balanced.

Hi

OK I checked and it is the BACK of the CD Player - the silkscreen printing showing the 'BDA3' is incorrect.

Thanks, james.

There were even some brand new products being shown, such as a CD player from Bryston that’s yet to be officially named (the BCD-3 on the faceplate in the photo above isn’t set in stone) and priced.

Just got back from the show and I have to say that although the Bryston room and a handful of other rooms looked & sounded good, overall the show was a disappointment.  Probably the worst one yet.

I walked into the Micromega/Focal room and they were playing music so loud that it actually didn't sound good (nerve-racking) which unfortunately, did not do justice to the equipment.

The Bryston folks were very nice & informative and the sound was good.  The new BCD looks real nice in the "flesh" and it's definitely going to be my replacement CD player whenever my BCD-1 dies on me (hopefully not in the near future).

Hi Folks,

Some pics of the new prototype CD Player at the show - the CD tray draw will be finished in the same colour as the front panel - did not have time with the prototype.  It is a rack space and 1/2 tall - same as new BDA3 DAC.

Nice looking unit!  Assuming it goes into production when might it be available, or too soon to tell?

so the rear panel is from a BDA-3 with USB and Ethernet, safe to assume those inputs will not be on the final product and that it will only have analog and a couple of digital outputs?

No it will be as you see it - the silk screen is wrong - it should say BCD-3

I must be having a senior moment as confusion sets in...

Are the USB and Ethernet access points "inputs" or "outputs"?

Love the CD player but why is it called the 3 and not the BCD2  Is it because of the cubed thing? Any way glad to see it .... :thumb:

We had developed a BCD-2 way back when and then decided to wait for the new AKM DAC's - so it became the 3 to differentiate the two designs.

If it was the back panel of the BDA-3 it would have multiple HDMI connections..just a FYI

so the rear panel is from a BDA-3 with USB and Ethernet, safe to assume those inputs will not be on the final product and that it will only have analog and a couple of digital outputs?

Hi all,
O.K. now, I am ready to post a few non professional pictures
of my visit to the Montreal Show Images et Son at Hotel,
Bonnaventure.
I will start with the Bryston room.
I was expecting large speakers on demo but the smaller T speakers
did a very good job.
(By the way, Bryston speakers are made by Axiom for Bryston
according to Bryston specs and both Bryston and Axiom
are 100% Canadian manufacturers.)
The sound was good, read very good for something that small.
I've heard in other rooms much bigger speakers that did not have the nice bass
of those.
Very nice sound, cannot say more, cannot say less.
Am I impressed with the sound? Yes, I am, for their size
and they are Made in Canada, which also goes for all the electronics.
I spoke with a gentlemen from Bryston (Sorry, forgot his name)
very friendly.
No technical bla, bla from me on the set up,
but yes, very nice system.
