Hi all,
my Internet connection is still not up to cruising speed,
however, I can post text, no problem.
The Montreal Audio Show held at Hotel Bonnaventure
in my opinion is a very bad choice of location,
I am it is very easily accessible via bus and subway,
but the way the room are laidout is terrible,
everyone overthere is trying to figure out where to go,
it's like a labyrhinte, cavern....

You can easily miss some rooms...
There was a good numbers of exhibitors, but like in many hotels,
room are small and acoustic is terrible.
For me, only a few rooms - equipment sounded good.
Of course Bryston room acoustic was not bad and there was another room
with some Open Baffle speakers (I guess less prone to room acoustic) sound good,
most od them suffer from bad boom, boom bass...
Many exhibitors played their music way too loud.
500 to 1,000$ power cable and many don'r realized that that money would be
better spent on acoustic treatment of their listening room.
Yes, me too, would benefit from acoustic treatment in - on my planet Vietnam listening room.
Is it worth to trip overthere ? Yes, because it's free admission and second,
it give you an idea of what's available and the trends of audio.
I was more or less surprised to see a few turntable and tube amplifiers.
Well sorry for my very incomplete report on the show,
but I was there more for myself than for others and has you can see,
I am not a too good audio reporter, well O.K. a bad audio reporter.
Well if you could not be there, at least you saw a few pictures.
Any questions ???
