Looking good. I'm definitely going to check it out once released. My Mac Mini server is good, but the Auralic gear has been really impressing me.
The software is AURALIC's proprietary "Lighting DS App" from the release:
Also, I can see that the femto clocks would allow for a good synch from a wireless network into the Aries. Would it provide any advantage w.r.t. passing the data over USB or S/PDIF to a DAC? I wasn't sure on the last point. Thanks, -dB
Also very interested in this product as a potential replacement for a mac mini and hope to be able to demo / borrow one from my local dealer when it arrives. When do you think you'll get yours? Would be very interested in your impressions vs a mac mini running something like Pure Music / Ammara / Audiovarna etc in memory mode.
Look nice! This might replaces my Oppo.Anyone has a picture of the internal? Is it able to add internal hard drive? I don't think there is enough room.Would this work with Zyxel NAS?
Hey jtwrace,I now understand why you are over the moon for this company. I got to audition the Vega for a week, and it was absolutely sublime. I have never heard a DAC that made image layering so pronounced before. I will be getting one of them for sure. I used a Mac Mini, tricked out with SSD and a Hynes supply, and I never had a hiccup running exact clock mode. Just wonderful sounding to say the least.I'm sure the Aries operates at the same very high level. Looking forward to your thoughts on it.Cheers!
Is it really going to have that silly clamshell thingy in production?
