None. Whomever would be really bored at my place, And be pissed they wasted their time.
I am certainly NOT exciting enough to actually be able to entertain any of them.

But she raises a good point : someone who's a great musician may not be great company - and vice versa.  It's hard to know until you're in the moment.

My pick in the gone clear category is Beethoven and around would be Steve Winwood.
My Wife's gone clear is Mozart and Doc Watson (I know that's two) and around is Bruce Springsteen

Not that. You dont need do anything, they would go in your home just to play music for you.
It was what I understand from the topic title.

I'm very sentimental towards women so...

Annie Clark. Guitar nerd and seems quite pleasant.

Or either of these two women. Regina Spektor / Amanda Palmer

Regina is as sweet as honey and I would like a shot at making Amanda Palmer laugh.
Ya, that would work. Amanda's husband is Neil Gaiman and might be at least as interesting
to talk to.

Although Beethovan, Bach or Mozart would be an experience beyond compare.
If I only spoke their language.

What is wrong with all you people???? (just kidding, but...)

Tony Bennett!!!

He seems like a guy who appreciates his gift and still has his feet on the ground. And besides, my wife is a great cook and she and I both love art. I think we could have a very nice evening with the Tonester. :D

Of course, if I'm allowed more than one then I go everywhere from Mozart, Beethoven, Bach, Mahler, Dvorak... to W.C. Handy, Louis, the Duke, the Count, B.B. King, Coltrane, Evans... to Frank, The Beatles, Neil Young, Joan Baez, Sid Vicious, The Clash, Jello Biafra, any number of rock & pop folk from the 60s, 70s, and 80s.

And Joni Mitchell and James Taylor (maybe not on the same night! :lol)

And Dave Brubeck.

Kinda torn, at least as a knee-jerk response, between Johnny Cash and Geddy Lee.

Hi FULLRANGEMAN and all Audio Circle members.
Again, I see that you and me have similar taste for many things.
I am not sure if I would like to see the Ventures live?
First:
The live sound is never as good as the recorded studio sound
and second:
If I see them live,
I would prefer they dress the way they did when they first started to play.
(Nice suit)
But I know, I am always too demanding
or demanding the impossible.
By the way, today's bands don't know how to dress.
My opinion for what it's worth.
I know I am old fashion guy.

Hi FULLRANGEMAN and all Audio Circle members.
I forgot that I have somewhere in my CD/DVD boxes one DVD or VCD
of The Ventures live recording in Japan.
When the repair of my listening is finish (In a few years or before I die)
I will find it and play it again.
I love the sound of their guitars...

I like some of the other picks I've seen.  (E.g.: Peter Gabriel, Nora Jones, Tony Bennett, SRV, Stevie Winwood, etc...)

Had me saying to myself, "how could I forget _______?" :duh:

The orchestra that i play in had Mr. Brubeck as a guest artist, twice over the years.  Once was in the mid 80's and the next time was in the early 90's.   The first lineup was Mr Brubeck on piano,  Bob Millitello on winds, Chris Brubeck on trombone/bass, Randy Jones on drums.  The second lineup had Bill Smith on Clarinet, Jack Six on bass and Randy Jones on drums.

Mr. Brubeck and Mr Gloyd ( Mr. Brubeck's personal conductor) were outstanding and very nice to talk to backstage after rehearsals.

For the musician I'd most like to have over to the house, I'd have to say Nick Mason.  I used to race open wheel cars when I was younger.  I'm sure we'd have other things, besides music, to chat about.

Top of my list - Nat King Cole. (Jazz)

Rock - Lennon
Blues - Muddy Waters
Classical - Mozart - though I'm not sure how we could relate.
