Thanks everyone.

My wife has been a big help today in helping me get orders packed, but at one point she did mention that she was ready to kill me.  :(

Danny be sure to bring your own hearing protection, you may even want to put headphones over plugs. Depending on the field strength of the MRI machine, the SPLs can top 130dB. Its like being loaded into the center of a warp core and then hitting warp 9.
Interesting, but very loud!
"Additional studies measured acoustic noise generated by echo planar imaging (EPI) and fast spin echo sequences. Echo planar sequences tend to have extremely fast gradient switching times and high gradient amplitudes. Shellock et al. reported high levels of noise ranging from 114 to 115 dBA on two different high field strength (1.5-Tesla) MR systems tested when running EPI sequences with parameters chosen to represent “worst-case” protocols. At 3-Tesla, Hattori et al. recorded sound levels that ranged from 126 to 131 dB on a linear scale, recommending the use of both earplugs and headphones for ear protection relative to the use of 3-Tesla MR systems when certain pulse sequences are used."

I had a series of scans in a 1.5 Tesla machine last summer and I was glad that I didn't opt for the 3 Telsa ride.

I came home with a broken clavicle and cracked rib from a motorcycle accident a few years ago.  When my loving wife discovered what happened, she offered to break the other one for me !!!

Hope you mend quickly.

Sorry to hear about your injury Danny. A few of my buddies have had shoulder surgery and after PT they all had a pretty good recovery.

I had to have knee surgery last fall after hurting it playing in a men's YMCA league against a bunch of college kids. I am back playing again, but as I just turned 53 I decided that the old guys noon pickup game was where I need to be! We still have fun, just at a slower pace.

I see. When will you get the results back?

How is your shoulder feeling? Any better?

I don't know.

It hurts a lot and I can't use my left hand for anything. Today it has started turning colors.

I kept skipping this thread thinking it was the hand injury one. That sucks when one of your wheels is out of commission. Get well and give her a raise and a smile. That helps to a point. I know, 'cause I was married once. Now I'm single and sometimes feel married.  Damn the troubles I bring upon myself. :duh:

I have regained some movement.

The MRI did not show any tears in the joint, tendons, or ligaments. Bad bruising in the deltoid muscle though.

I still have popping in the joint and bad pain at the end of the collar bone. So the MRI may have missed something. We'll see.

Good news so far.  It may hurt like  :cuss: but I'm crossing my fingers for you that this is all just a sign that once the muscle issues settle down, a little rehab and some light duty days will be all you need to get back to 100%.  :thumb:

I hope everything goes well when you meet with the orthopedic doctor tomorrow and that surgery will not be required. Wish you a speedy recovery Danny.
