Glad this took off, what model is that VAC tube amp, that displaces at least the Dodd stuff for me, that thing is gorgeous.  If we are including speakers too, my Vapor Audio Cirrus in flame box elder are pretty good looking in there own right.  Those maple cabinets with the cherry inlays are better looking than they sound like they should be though, WOW.

Anybody know of anything that is beautiful in the MBL sense but maybe like 80,000 dollars cheaper?  I like the designs most where form follows function but somehow still looks good, one of the reasons why the Cirrus looks so good to me.

Always liked the looks of my Vintage Marantz 2270 I bought while in college. Bring it out of hiding (closet) a couple of times a year.

Meadowlark Blue Heron II's. When I took the first one out of the crate my wife said something like "those are pretty". Solid maple front with cherry inlays.

Hey!  Those are my speakers!!!!    They are my most beautiful purchase also.    :thumb:

Hey!

"All Solid State" circle? I guess I out than since my system are tubed.

Take care,
Buddy :thumb:

Oops, I didn't even notice (okay, I didn't bother to look). I just saw the thread title and thought about my amp. It had a predecessor which was no slouch in the looks department either - also sounded quite superb...and it's solid state. :D

It's a Phi 300.1 (special edition, of sorts - long story).

BTW, all you folks with speakers that have such beautiful cabinets almost make me jealous. Many of us planar folk have plainer looking monoliths. There are some exceptions, but my 3.7s aren't.

Gotta be the Salk HT2-TL's in mesquite because my AVA equipment isn't even in the running.

Hey!

Kevin, it is cool. It did said "... audio component..." I'm sure the original poster meant to be that way. We used to have a more general circle here, of which would be perfect for this.

    BTW.... nice VAC.  :D

Take care,
Buddy :thumb:

The speakers are really nice, except for that ugly black base.

IMO, the speakers would look much better with aluminum outriggers like Thiel uses on their CS2.4SEs.

I did mean to stick to components rather than just a free for all, I dont care tubed vs. solid state though.  There is just no better circle to put this in.

I was doing some cleaning and rearranging of my audio rack this weekend and was again struck by the handsome build quality and logical design of my Aloia amp & preamp. Here are a couple of pics of the inside of the preamp power supply and head unit. Even the interior base plate of the power supply is chrome plated. Signori Aloia put as much care into the aesthetics of these late 90's Italian beauties as the circuit design and sonics.

Hi.
Not really any specific reason why,..

I don't care less how artistic or beautiful an audio looks. I care only how it SOUNDs!
Audio is for the ears. Good or so so looking can't make it sound better or worse.

Unlike food, artistic plate layout can increase one's appetite for sure.

Sorry, no show from me.

Those Salk speakers have a Shroud of Turin look to them for sure. :)
