Have you tried unplugging the powercable? There are situations even a reboot or factory reset won't help, but unplugging the power does.
If that wont do it, this is definitely a 'Chris-question'.....
Hi Marius,
Tried uplugging the cable, thanks but still no joy. As you said, it was a "Chris-question".
Chris rang me, spent a few minutes with a screen sharing programme and a nifty command-line utility, and I now have a working BDP-1! (I am on Windows 7, too).
Must admit I was sceptical (thought I had a hardware fault or Chris was a Mac guru with little knowledge of Windows) but he's obviously a wizard with any o/s. No idea what he did but my MPD's come back, that's all I care about (he helped me update to the latest firmware and recover my album art in MPad/Mpod, too).
By an unfortunate coincidence I had router trouble (DHCP etc) at about the time I lost my BDP-1, completely unrelated (I think, although I suppose it may have triggered the BDP-1 problem). So, that had me looking in the wrong direction.
Hooray!
Paul
