I highly doubt it would need the 30A line, I was going to wire for one mainly because the amp is wired with a 30a connector.

Do you think the 3000VA can even get the job done? Should I just use a seperate sub panel and forget the Plitron? I will be able to place the sub panel and Plitron if needed just outside the listening room.

Thanks for the help!

For other readers doing serious wiring projects, they total about 145 pages, but are well worth reading:

OK, it's a little tricky, from the main panel run 30A wire to the 30A receptacle, but only use a 25A breaker (the f2000tx amplifier will just have to get by on 25 Amps). tap from the receptacle to the Plitron input. Wire the Plitron's outputs in parallel to a little two breaker box. Use two 15A breakers in the box.

Notes: My drawing lists the Plitron's input at 120V but the output at 115V.  It would have been more fun if the outputs were 15A.
We have to wire the circuit as a 30A circuit in order to connect a 30A receptacle. Then we undersize the breaker to connect the Plitron. This needs a warning label in the main panel.

What type of in-wall wiring do you have?
Romex® Non-Metallic
Metal Conduit EMT
Metal Flex
Plastic conduit

Print out the appropriate parts of the Middle Atlantic paper to show the electrician.

I haven't decided yet. I'm still not in the house. What would you recommend?

You're just a few hours down the road from me.  I think that Dayton is standard NEC code (no special restrictions). You don't want plastic conduit, but the other 3 are a toss-up depending on the actual product and installation technique. Is a paid electrician doing the work or you & friends?
