Like I said, a dime a dozen. And let's not forget Django Reinhardt. Hell, he did it with three fingers.

Well, I think it's pretty lame when someone spells his name Jimmy Hendricks and then has the nerve to say that he is only the third best guitarist.

That made me laugh.  However, while I have been a Pink Floyd fan for most of my life, I would still have to look up whether it's spelled Gilmore or Gilmour.

Just looked it up...it's Gilmour.

Just to be difficult, what about Doc Watson, Norman Blake and Tony Rice. This, in my opinion, is a stupid thing to argue about. Good guitar players are a dime a dozen. Many of them are unemployed. Now, good contra-bassoon players would be a worthy topic of discussion :o.

Doc

I may not always agree with your post, Doc, but I like the way you think.  It seems like these threads alway overlook the best trained, virtuoso guitarist- the classical guys or the Spanish flamenco school.

How about a discussion of the topt three castrati of the last hundred years?  I think that is a list we can quickly agree upon, as only a couple lived into the age of recording.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=slhhg8sI6Ds

Seriously doubtful you are a HendriX fan, you don't know how to spell his name correctly.

That was a very insightful remark; however you’re actually ultimately wrong by your premise.  As I can not say that I am truly Hendricks fan, proof by the number of purchased music I own of his. I do study and play a few of his songs, couple I know by heart, without looking at the music. So you are correct I would not say I am a fan. You would have been closer to the truth to say I am not a very good speller.

He's 31 years old now. He's a much better singer than guitar player anyway. IMHO of course.

A G3 Wankfest featuring Vai, Satch, und EengVay is not so surprising. But a G3 lineup with Satch, Vai, and, uh...Fripp? That I was not expecting.

There are 32 Hendrix CDs?

And counting...If a way of making a nickel off Jimi Hendrix in some way, shape or form exists, Experience Hendrix will be all over it. But, I guess if not them, someone else...

And I will say what everyone else is thinking: the spelling thing is getting real(ly) old real(ly) fast.
