I know it's considered one of their weakest albums, and I know they didn't have a whole lot to do with it, especially the second side... but I would have voted for Yellow Submarine!  Hey Bulldog is probably my favorite Beatles song, the other five tracks rank right up there in my book and I like George Martin's symphonic stuff on side two.

Sure, other albums are better, but this one always makes me smile when rotates into my playlist.

Yellow Submarine is one of my top Beatle LPs too. Just because of "Hey Bulldog" what a great song !!

Too hard - oh  so hard. I voted for Revolver (UK version) and the wife is steadfast for Rubber Soul which is hard to deny. Actually, I love the Past Masters 1 & 2 because of Rain but I know they don't qualify as "Beatles albums" as they are only singles bundled. This Boy, Ticket To Ride and Paperback Writer are hard to ignore.

Magical Mystery Tour was the first album purchased with my own money.

either revolver or abbey road.

but I really like the Capitol version of Rubber Soul-I know it isn't the album the Beatles put out, but Capitol did a good job of taking a few songs from the British albums of a few months earlier that hadn't been released in the States, and made an "album" of songs that sounded like they were meant to be together. The actual British Rubber Soul is more like a real Beatles album - songs with different styles; but the American one is as if the Beatles put out a "folk rock" album.

Abbey Road

But I will kick myself for giving away my highly collectible White album that was pressed on white vinyl. I imagine that album sells at a high price today. That one was mint.

Very difficult since they covered several eras/styles, and in such an amazingly short time.
I guess I'd have to say Abbey Road ... a stunning release. IMO this a perfect album.
All of their other albums were pop material, with contents ranging from good to brilliant.
But to me, AR is more than mere pop or rock music. It is simply great music from start to finish.
The whole album is brilliant. Very few perfect albums exist IMO, but this is one.

Pre Rubber Soul IMO Beatles were all bubblegum pop.
Once they got to Rubber Soul I started buying Beatles Lps.. way back in the day..
I was pretty impressed with Rubber Soul.
I skipped Revolver, Sgt Pepper, Magical Myst...  and bought the White album and liked it  too.
Then I bought Abbey Road, and Let it be.

Only years later did I begin to like Revolver and Sgt pepper.

Does anyone remember the big hoax of Paul being dead?

On Abbey Road the clues were: Paul is the only Beatle walking barefoot, he is on the wrong cadence step compared to the other three Beatles, and in the background there is a VW Beatle with the license plate IF34. All of the high schoolers thought that meant if Paul was still alive, he would be 34 years old..

On the Magical Mystery tour LP, there was one song that had the recording of "I buried Paul." at the very end of the song. Was that Strawbberry Fields Forever? If you held the LP cover in front of a mirror, in the words Beatles, a phone number popped out. Some of my classmates called the number and got a recording that Paul was dead. On the front of the cover, Paul was a black Walrus, and the others were all yellow.

I don't remember what album cover, but the pic showed Paul wearing a black rose and the rest of the Beatles were wearing red roses. That hoax sure sold a lot of albums for the Beatles then.

On the White Album, there was one song played backwards, said "turn me on dead man, turn me on". I believe that was Revolution #9.

If you listen closely, they are not saying "I burried Paul" but are actually saying "Cranberry Hall."

Yes, I tried to help a friend play one of the Beatles records backwards, we were unable to perform the feat.

I did a Google search on this Paul hoax, and here is a website that ezplains it better. The license plate on the Beetle on Abbey Road is actually 28IF, not 34.

If it really is a hoax (sure is a lot of material out there with both points of view) - there's plenty of material out there - the pictures from the video in Kenya in November 1966 (that were in Mal Evans' suitcase when he was shot in a sort of mysterious fashion supposedly wrote a tell all book) sure look quite different than the Paul pictures a couple of months before that:

The eyes and ears sure looks a lot different between these two Paul pics.

He was probably high in the 2nd pic

It was most likely a publicity stunt which none of the Beatles ever owned up to. The "clues" (which are numerous) stretch back to the back cover of Sgt. Pepper, released after their announcement that they would no longer perform live.

The assertion that the Beatles could find someone who not only looked but sounded just like Paul is far fetched, to put it mildly.

There is a local Branson band, the Liverpool Legends, that sounds much like the younger rough versions of the Beatles. This band was founded by George Harrison's sister, Louise. The person that she picked for Paul looks so much like a younger Paul.

If you ever get to Branson, these guys are a must see. Here is their website.

Finding a look alike might not be too far fetched, adding the fabulous singing voice makes it tougher. Now, consider the songwriting ability? Impossible.
