I read about that one elsewhere and it looks promising. I heard that they are working on a kali 2 as well....and i haven't even had a chance to hear the original yet

It's really fun with all the development that is going on  :thumb:

Soekris is a DIY DAC board with I2S input that some people are integrating with a Raspberry Pi. They are working on a hat DAC. This will be a higher end DAC in the $250 to $300 range. It will also have inputs for Toslink and Coax digital. It will be a larger hat board, so it will only fit in certain cases. I was thinking of getting it and combining it with a 5" display and remote control capability in an aluminum case.

Here is a very generous offer to try a very capable Rpi based set up for free. See link for the info on the tour.

This looks like a very well designed system. In fact it beats my own setup since it includes the kali and a linear psu. Perfect for those who don't feel comfortable setting up one yourself. Don't miss this opportunity to try something special!

Big thanks to JohnR and Letitroll98 for organizing.

Thanks for the shoutout, listening to this setup as I type.  Unbelievable the sound quality coming out of this unit, detailed, sweet and very natural tone, great soundstage, tuneful bass, a real toe tapper with zero listening fatigue.

I have no idea what that (SMSL M8) is but the Pi is going on tour so anyone in the continental US (*) can sign up and find out for themselves ;)

(*) That was simply a decision for practical reasons to keep costs down.
