Thought i should just bump the topic up with a 928, hope the pic uploads.

Approaching it's 19th birthday but still flies, maybe due for a respray this winter if the
audio budget can be cut.
Partner is a 996 user, it certainly doesn't corner like the 928.

Very nice!  Is that a Le Car in the background?!?!

Looks more like an AMC Gremlin to me.  I wonder which was worse?

Thought I'd bring this thread back to life with some pictures of the custom ordered Cayman S I took delivery of in July

Yes, a tour would be great :green: I'll gladly drive it on from the Midwest to the East coast to save on shipping.

I don't know what you're talking about, I'm in Northern Mexico, I mean South Texas.

Awesome!! 917-30, flat 12, 1100 turbo horses, 230mph on Mulsanne straight! Greatest race car ever built?
RIP Mark Donahue...

We did visit the restoration shop a few months later. There was a 356 cab chassis, stripped, just painted. Lots of cars all around. The most interesting piece was a 25% scale car of a 917LH longtail LeMans racecar. It looked like a large go kart, but pretty accurate replica considering it was fully operational, and had no roof. It was made by Porsche as a toy for a Porsche family member, iirc?

There was a great show on Speed Channel last weekend, Test Drive, featuring the new 2012 911 Carerra. I wasn't a big fan of the looks at first, but after I watched this show and saw it in action from different angles, and learned about the technology, I am a believer. I'll have mine in black please.  http://www.speedtv.com/programs/speed-test-drive-porsche-911/  Check out the repeats.

That Cayman is sweet.  :thumb:  The recent models are technologically so much more advance than the raw seat of the pants 1960s and early 1970s models that I own.  I did learn car control with those early cars though, which help with my racing years later.

RIP Mark Donahue...

Yeah, he was my favorite race car driver. I remember how elated I was when he won the Indy 500.
Well, too bad he died especially the way he did.

Back in the '80's, when I was involved in SCCA with an old Formula Ford, there was a man from Southeast Florida (maybe Naples) that used to drive a sweet Porsche 904.    Absolutely gorgeous car.
