APC S15 for $250 NEW until 5/17/11 (MSRP $1500)!!!

This is an incredible deal. It really was $1500 MSRP because I had one before, and Vanns had it for $300 new past week but became $250 until 5/17 with another instant rebate.

I know it's legit because a friend of mine just received his from when it was $300 from Vann's. I just ordered it at $250 shipped, no tax!

When I had it, it was one of the best-sounding power conditioners I had heard. It's not double-conversion "on-line", but for some reason it sounds like it is, possibly due to having the battery in the power-chain.

Bill Gaw of EnoyTheMusic reported it was better than his $3200 Nordost Thor here:

I prefer black, so I checked Vann's and they do have it also in black - FOR $800 !

Do you find this robs musicality at all? I noticed that when I used a PS Audio P-300. Led to a kind of unnatural sound. I've got crap power and was getting ready to start researching solutions and this price looks very right...

What equipment did you use the PS300 with? I imagine wouldn't be able to handle your amps, but I have heard that it is much better on sources and preamps.

If you need / want a (double-conversion) UPS, grab a used Liebert GXT2 on eBay for this price or cheaper and replace its fans.

Not knocking the APC - seems like a decent deal.

CD player, preamp, phono pre and turntable motor. It was an improvement in many ways, but with the refinement came a drier unmusical quality.

For $250 I said screw it, I was thinking of dropping more on a Quartet anyway and this thing seems pretty hefty.

Will you guys be plugging your amps in? I've got a pair of 845 SETs I am assuming I should still plug in the wall.

I have a Liebert also that I modified with quiet fan, Teslaplex, etc. I plan to plug my Liebert into the APC S-15

As far as the question about PS Audio P-300, I am one of those people who believe you need LOTS of headroom when it comes to power. For example, I would not plug in more than one or two small components into 300 watt PS Audio. Remember that PS Audio P-300 actually is an amplifier in reverse, so all the factors that go into a great amp also applies..

Thanks for the tip. I just called them and they gave me extra $20 off on my order yesterday. To get S15 at $230 shipped is truly highway robbery. At 62 Lb, the shipping cost alone must be enormous

I called on the S15(back at $299.99) just now and told the sales rep that I had been looking at this last night but did not buy. I asked if he would honor $249.99 price from yesterday and he replied that he would.

I should have this beast by Friday.

Just bought it with the coupon, so got a great deal! But if I hate it, you'll see it here for sale! It should do fine either in my main ht/audio system or in the family room system, we'll wait and see. Will it be better than a BPT? Who knows

Just ordered mine. Crazy deal. I have an APC H15 that I've had for @3 years and I really liked it, so this should be a no brainer. I did get it for 249, however they wouldn't give the extra 20 off. Either way its an amazing deal.

I asked why so cheap, and he stated that APC has not been selling the silver ones well, so they bught them up on a bulk sale, so they can offer them at crazy low prices.
