OK, I confess it.  I never even looked at the manual for this thing as I assumed all is plug and play.

Is there a particular setting this should be on for decent results?  I haven't really liked mine from day one, but I'm wondering if I'm missing something.

The APC H15 I have is plug and play. Only adjustment I made was for how tightly the voltage was regulated.

But like you, I didn't feel I got much sonic improvement (caveat: in my system, as with any power conditioning, and much else in audio). I did sleep better at night knowing that my equipment was well protected against surges. But I now just use it with non-audio equipment like TV, computer and hard drives.

It subtracts texture and overly tightens the sound when I hook up my DAC or Amp to it. But it doesn't affect the sound of my Legato Async converter or my Mac Mini and external drives, while giving needed protection (esp. with the battery backup) to the computer pieces. It's staying just for that.

Roscoe,

I'll give that a look when I get home tonight.  Maybe voltage tightening/loosening can help things.  My problem wasn't 'not making a big enough difference' so much as hating the change it made.

Rob,

That sounds like what I was experiencing before, though I don't really recall anymore.  I know John didn't like it in your system any more than he did in mine.

Right now I'm just using it for my tv, cable box, ps3, turntable motor, and other misc. non-audio things.

Well, I'm not sure that adjusting the voltage range affected anything sonically. In my old place I had such big swings that I actually loosened up the range to keep the APC from making the audible click that occur when the voltage correction kicks in. The looser setting was still within the voltage parameters that any audio equipment at US voltage is designed to operate within (unlike those nasty drops to ~105V I was experiencing).
