I have a Liebert also that I modified with quiet fan, Teslaplex, etc.  I plan to plug my Liebert into the APC S-15  :thumb:

Why?

Pretty sweet deal - this will be my first power conditioner, so I'm really looking forward to seeing what it will do.

My first conditioner as well. Would it make sense to plug in my tube amp into this? It is a Rogue 88.

Good question.  I will try that combo but if not better, I'll try other combo's, such as source into one amp into another, etc.

I haven't looked at Liebert's circuit diagram, but there is active circuitry to regenerate AC sine wave from battery, so unless those circuits are powered from the battery itself (?), they are getting power from the wall, in which case power conditioning before Liebert may be helpful.  Another thing to consider is that they seem to use class D circuitry to regenerate AC, like other industrial products, in which case, having conditioning to prevent "digital noise" back into AC may help.  Just a theory.

I think the circuits that generate the AC sine wave must run off of the battery pack as the Liebert is able to generate AC / power components plugged into it, when its input power is interrupted / disconnected.

I will be VERY interested in the magnitude of difference!
I'll also be curious to read this comparison.

I ordered one yesterday, but they wouldn't give me the $249 price ... said that was a one day thing only.  They did give me the $20 off for a call in order however.

Mine is out for delivery now, but the elevator at my office is out of order and my suite is on the third floor.   With a shipping weight of 78 pounds, I won't be surprised if UPS pulls a "delivery exception" on me.

Mine is supposed to arrive today. The shipping weight on the tracking page says 142 lbs!! Surely that cannot be correct.

OMG is this thing HEAVY. Get a friend to help bring this beast in the house. If you price it by the pound $250 was a steal!

mine is in place and seems to be working fine.  I can't put my finger on it but this is not sonically invisible and I'm not sure its for the better.  I may try keeping my amps in the wall.

It definitely looks impressive.

Impressive indeed ... both looks and weight. It is a very nice looking unit and solidly built. Weighs a ton as everyone is experiencing. The box weight is even more because of the rack mount brackets that are at the bottom of the box.

I plugged my amp and cd player in it to give it a try. (my pre is battery powered) Right away there was a loud hum which lasted a few seconds and then went away. Not sure I am noticing much difference but I should let everything warm up before I say anything. With the two units plugged in it says it can run for 114 mins on the battery back up.

My amps seem to sound better plugged into the wall.  The APC was only at 58% with them in, but it sounded like dynamics were a bit restricted.   Oh well, I think I hear an improvement in overall coherence with it supplying power to everything else.  And it estimates it can live for 2 hours powering my other components!

So far I like what I hear. The amp had a slight hum before plugging into the APC but now it seems to be almost entirely gone. It may be because of this but things are a bit more resolved. On the minus side, the battery now shows only 40 mins of runtime.

I have the TV in my den plugged into mine.  Is it going to be a big waste of power to leave it on?  I know it was with the PS regenerators.

Guys, you have a brand new audio component with a ton of capacitors, parts, wires, connectors that need to be broken in.  Leave your non-tube components powered up 24/7 and maybe even a desk lamp or two for a couple of weeks and listen.  THEN, take the APC out of your system and listen again :eyebrows:

Greetings,

Does this REGENERATE the signal for a clean sine wave?  Or does it simply adjust the voltage to 120V +/- 5% plus have battery back up?

Thanks,
UL

Good advice JonL ... but we are like kids when it comes to new toys.  :D

What I like so far is that the faint hum from my tube amp is almost gone. That alone makes it worthwhile!

If I am not mistaken, only the battery backup is pure sine wave. This from the manual:

"Isolated noise filter
banks and Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) will eliminate power as a source of
audio and video signal degradation. Pure sine wave battery backup power will
prevent interruptions, lost pre-sets, missed DVR recordings and lost media server
data when the power goes out. Data-line surge protection jacks will stop surges
traveling over phone or data lines."
