Very sweet and powerful Berning EA2-150 amplifier.
It was converted by previous owner to use 6KG6A (EL509) instead of the 6FL6 tube. I have 2 spares that will go along with the amp.
It uses 4 6KG6A output tubes and 6 12AT7's.
Speaker impedances of 4, 8 and 16 provided for with 5 way binding posts.
Self biasing. ( I believe it was the first amp to do so)
It has feedback selection switch of 0, 8 or 16 dB. It also has a front toggle switch to limit output to 40 watts instead of 150 watts.
Its the sibling to the Audionics BA-150. Comes with some literature and schematics.
Looks wise, the front is very good, the chasis is strong and tight, the perforated surfaces (top and rear) show age. There is a slight hum coming from the main long black trannie that I tamed by putting some rubber between the trannie and side wall...Trannie mounts might need to be tightened, or the ground?
voltages:
In the instruction manual it says:
117 VAC, 50-60Hz up to 10 Amps
234 VAC, 50-60Hz up to 5 Amps
I think its the little orange wire in the plug that has to be relocated.
Ships from zip 07047, and its a 90 lb package.
