Just finished the update.  The new interface looks quite nice...it's moved from a 0.9 release to  1.10.

James,

Can you go into a little more detail around some of the new features in the latest firmware?

I would like to better understand the following:

Scratch Drive utility (album art data base)

USB Mount Utility

In the settings option via the Bryston web interface I can create a scratch drive and build an album DB (I have done both), but I have no clue what that really changed or improved.

Thanks,

George

Hi George,

The scratch drive just assigns a dedicated area on the drive you choose (must be FAT32 at this point) where a section is reserved for when you need extra access space.  It will come in handy when you have very large libraries attached going forward with the BDP-1.

The USB mount utility is just a new program that speeds up the load time when you insert a USB drive.

It is part of the new software and gets loaded automatically.

Load time is much faster with new software. By the way James, I can use the MINI(I assume it's MINI 2) on my laptop but still can't get MAX to work.

What browser are you using?  Did you refresh the browser?

Using Google Chrome. Have shut down the browser, reloaded, etc. but always the same results. A column down the left side with the album at the bottom, blank page in the center with constant 'Loading' in the left hand corner. On top will show what is playing but no contols like Play, Pause etc.

Very strange - I am using Chrome with no issues. Maybe try Safari or Firefox just to confirm it is not the browser.

James,Mozilla worked just fine. Very nice interface. Thanks for the help.
Just noticed one little quirk. When you expand the album cover to the center, the 'Time Elapsed' function stops working. Then when it is minimized, it resumes at the proper time. It actually freezes the entire info box....the name of the current song doesn't change or the elapsed time until the album is minimized.

I thougt for a moment that it was a stand alone, user ascessible option.

HI James,

Finally I discovered what it is that makes me feel awkward about Max: whenever you click on a map/folder, you now get to see the contents of that map, and not, like in explorer(windows) of finder (Mac) get an expanding map with its contents. The feel with the filing-structure is gone.

Would it be possible to program the interface like Explorer/finder? Like clicking the + in front of the folder. You get to see the content, but also the structure of the filing system.

I believe it would make a great improvement. Back and forward buttons wouldn't be wanted anymore (or at least less wanted)....

Greets,
Marius

Thanks - I will run it by the software guy.
