error 09
« on: 20 Jun 2011, 04:53 pm »
Hi James,

Trying to play an brandnew Usb stick with a new downloaded Linnrecording 24/192 on it I get an error 09. It won't recognize the usb. Display says:

BDP! 000063     error 09
R 02.0 2010-10-19     176

i get the feeling that whenever I have 2 usb 's in the front, the BDP will only recognize one of them.

Rebooting does not make a difference.

Grts,
Marius

Hi Marius,

I assume the thumb drive is FAT32 formatted?

Also what version of software are you using - and what is the serial number of your unit - I am thinking you have older software loaded?

I guess, because I bought another one, !6gig, which plays fine. The bdp hangs right now, i can't reboot, either remote, through the max interface or with the powerbutton....

Is the serial in the interface settings, or do I have to look on the machine itself?

Hi Marius - the software number will be on the display - the serial number will be on the back and on the box. Are you saying it will not reboot?

yep, it didn't reboot, had to unplug it from the wall.

serialnumber 0063, date 1044 rev 1 it says on the back.

this what you're looking for?:

Hi Marius,

Looks like you got the latest software already - thanks for the pic.

So that particular thumbdrive caused the problem and the newer drive is OK?

both new drives. same brand. 16 gig worked fine, 4 gig doesnt work on the bdp1, (plays fine on Audirvana....)

I had other drives plugged into the bdp 1, and was not able to read them both, either in MAx or on the frontpanel.

Hi James,

It won't update at all.. I see 'USb' on the frontdisplay, then push the arrow and get a 'd' with a slur at the top (i bit like the greek delta)

please do. I've sent you an email.

btw, this is the "delta" I wrote about:

another thing: I couldn't find any mention of having to unmount the usb's before taking them out of the BDP1. What would be the preferred way of doing so?

Hi marius,

You can un-mount while there playing or if one is playing you can mount or un-mount others - no harm done.

Sent you the software.

If that does not work I will have to send you a new Flashcard.

I believe it is used to signify that the displayed file is music, yes?

the update went well

the usbstick still won't read..still gets read on my mac and played by Audirvana.

another stick is read so I know now I can have 2 sticks together in the BDP1 . i doenloaded a test file yesterday called test192.flac but somehow i can not play it directly pushing the playbutton on the bdp1. when doing so the bdp1 plays the next song on the usb. using max it wont play either. then suddenly it will play using the up/down buttons. funny thing is is has a * on the display reading test192.flac* right now, Max does not have this *:

Somehow i've got the feeling we're not there yet...

Marius
(thanks for the wonderful customerservice though, do have the feeling we will get there in the end...)

For the interest of others if they think they're having issues with memory sticks (mine has suddenly gone faulty having been in my BDP-1 for 5 months from new and sed for nothing else) you can test them using this utility...

Hi Marius,

If you can get a 500 G Seagate 2.5 inch Hard Drive try one of those and load the music onto it and attach it to the bottom USB port on the back of the BDP-1.
