From Bill's email yesterday:

They left HK and I was hoping they would be here yesterday, they didn't
so I'm hoping DHL delivers them on Monday.

I think it's a good guess that it will look identical to the original version.

I wouldn't think so, since I thought it now has dedicated outs for both the tube and SS circuits ... and the case is much larger.

I don't believe there are dedicated outs for both tube and SS circuits.  The case is only somewhat larger, and there are now 2 power transformers.  The selector switch appears to remain on the front panel to select between tube or SS output.  As such, I'm betting the outputs on the rear panel are identical to the original version.  Separate outputs would negate the need for the selector switch.

As the DAC is due to ship any day now, it would be nice if we didn't have to speculate.  It would be nice to see pictures of the final design.

I just got off the phone with Bill.  The DAC's are in and he's scrambling to get the first bunch shipped (I think he said 11), and the rest should ship tomorrow.  Don't take this post for more than what I just stated.  This is all I know as Bill seemed hard at getting them shipped and couldn't chat.

Thanks Bill!

My DAC Plus arrived this afternoon.  A very pleasant surprise, indeed.

I have it installed into my system, and it is playing / burning-in at present.  Software installation was a breeze onto my Mac Mini (stock).  Connection via USB this evening.  There is only one set of outputs.  SS vs tube is by front panel switch.

Very initial impressions are that it sounds excellent.  I have tested 192 and 96 resolutions and they sound quite good.

That said, it needs some time to settle in, so I am eager to hear how it develops over the upcoming days.

A few guys have received if they lived close enough for the UPS man to deliver. They have all been sent out . I haven't had time to send tracking numbers yet as I worked till 11:30 pm on Tuesday and 10pm on Wed shipping these out and I just returned home now from shipping some new orders.
I will try to get everybody a UPS tracking number ASAP.

 Thanks everybody,
 Bill

Thats good to hear.  I am waiting for my dealer in the UK to get them in - should be at the end of September sometime.

From what I read about the original minimax it can take upto 50 hours burn-in to come alive.  I read one post where they talked about the sound changes that happened over a weekend....

Let us know your experiences.

I think (but am not sure?) that all 24/192 USB connection require special drivers.  I wish that more would support Linux though.

Very pretty! I wish it didn't require drivers.  :(
