One of the first was the Sound Storm Festival on April 24-26, 1970 in Poynette, Wisconsin. The lineup for the three day outdoor concert included: The Grateful Dead, Northern Comfort, Baby Huey and the Babysitters, Rotary Connection, Crow, The Bowery Boys, Illinois Speed Press, Wheezer Lockinger, Luther Allison, Mason Proffit, and others.See more photos of the early Dead at the concert here:I haven't seen my face in any of the crowd photos but I was there, my buddy Phil confirms it.
