First BIG concert was Elton John at Madison Square Garden with box seats. I thought this was normal.

I kept asking my dad what that strange smell was...I was only 6.

Mine was Jethro Tull on the Aqualung tour with an unknown band named Yes opening the show, July 1971. Great concert.

I believe it was 1969. Boston Garden: Led Zeppelin, Johny Winter and MC 5. It cost me $5 the day of the event.

1st rock concert? The Association at the Lyric Theater in Baltimore. 1967, I think.

Prior to that The Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem. Same place, '66 or '67.

I am not sure who was the first. We had a teen club and lots of national and regional bands played there. The Kingsmen, Paul Revere and the Raiders, and Jerry Lee Lewis are a few I remember. I stood just behind Jerry and watched him play a couple songs. It was a dance club, so you were very close to the acts. That was around 1962

Sweaty Teddy (Ted Nugent) and the Amboy Dukes performing on the back of a 40' flatbed trailer at a motocross track in St Charles Missouri. I think it was '71 or '72. Papa's Will was awesome

AC/DC Fly on the Wall Tour 1985 at McNichols Sports Arena,Denver Colorado.
Three friends and I walked to Federal Blvd after the show where we ran into some thugs. They pulled some Knives on us and took our concert shirts.

Charlie Daniels Band at the Ocean Ice Palace in Brick, NJ.
The year before Devil Went Down To Georgia came out.
Went with my older brother and a bunch of his friends in a custom Chevy Van.
I don't remember much but was told we had a good time

In the early 70’s the English groups would tour together and usually in 3’s. Tickets were typically $6 - $8. Not sure if the 1st was:

Fleetwood Mac (the Peter Greene version)
Savoy Brown
Uriah Heep

or

Long John Baldry
