Lowtech, hi i was waiting for this, one of the reasons i dont post very often there is allways someone waiting to put a spanner in the works ! people like pictures, i do, i have only just started this thread happy to answer any questions if i can,i am no expert. these sound great to me, yes me, for all i know they may be a pile of crap as you seem to think the xover is all wrong i bow to your superior knowledge. details you ask for 4.7mh inductor to bass driver/ tangband full range/ 3uf cap to tweeter as i find most fullrange drivers lack a bit of sparkle. you may be an expert in paint spraying but a lot of people are not including me! you may be right in your assumption that these wont work with the xover i have, i accept that. but i only have to satisfy MY ears, RELAX THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE FUN

cheers lin, happy to receive any comments good or bad as long as they are constructive. we are all here here to learn from each other. going to have a serious rethink on the baffle support it is going to need scaleing up a bit but needs to be stylish to get past the all seeing eye of my girlfriend.
greg, point taken am open to any advice on the xover i have, but i will leave it as it is untill the drivers have run in then see how it pans out.cheers
Brain,Good job!!!Here I go again.....he he. You would be the perfect person to try a serious brace up the back and report back. Make it out pieces of three quarter inch birch plywood that are glued together so they are as thick as the magnet on the Alpha. Attach the brace at your base, epoxy it to your Alpha magnet then have it attach to the baffle above the alpha and then have it run up further and epoxy it to the Tang bands magnet and then attach it to the baffle above the tang band. This super brace would take your speaker into never never land. Also, putting EAR SD 40AL on the Alpha basket will help the sound mucho. Look at the speaker in the enclosed link and imagine that he also would have the brace right up against the magnets and epoxied. Also, your brace would be considerably thicker than his. Please try it and report back to educate others. http://www.iol.ie/~waltonaudio/ob.html
