The little crazy but free tweaks are the cure.
Then when you find that nothing worked to make stuff better sounding, you realize you only spent two bucks. It took a week to find out it did nothing, and hours of work, but Damn, it was only two bucks!
So make your own cables from scrap wire, a special weave type. Hours and hours of fun.
My last tweak even WORKED!! so for $8 total i got a big (subjective of course) improvement in my sound.. For EIGHT BUCKS. (added: for those who MUST know: it was the pig tail tweak with ferrites, explained elswhere)
That is the solution. time for some dirt cheap tweaking.
Even little bits of paper. Dots anyone? bits of foil?

what did you blow up?

I've come to realize that although i really do enjoy building things, my time is used up elsewhere so i now go for completed stuff. At some point in the future i may get back into it in full swing but for now i am sitting on a ton of unfinished projects. that reminds me i need to thin the herd.

The list is currently long so I think it has built up.
1) F5 is distorting. I **think** if I rewire the inputs I will be ok. Have no desire to do it so it sits collecting dust
2) Tapped horns making strange noises and the only way to look at the drivers is to cut a friggin hole in the back. Not intersted
3) MiniDSP was distorting when it should not have been. Sold it, F it.
