High End Show in Munich 2011
« on: 11 May 2011, 09:43 pm »
Hello to you all,

Like last year we will be present in Munich next week to join the 30th High End Show, Europe's largest AV show. Musical Reality is sharing a open space Booth together with KR Audio Electronics and Brauner Microphones. We will present the awarded Kronzilla connected to the VR 35 Export Deluxe and sourced by the Tentation as we presented in Denver last October.

Feel welcome in Halle 4 Booth K03 from 19 until 22 of May.

See for more information:

Hello to you all,

Finally got home from Munich.

We had a terrific show, many interested visitors came in and we received a lot of compliments about the booth. The graphics were done by Dirk Brauner, our new collegue in Germany. Never saw a 2A3 in this size!
The VR 35 was connected to the Kronzilla and, even in this huge hall, they were sounding very 'lifelike'. In the front you see the new limited edition of the VR 4 SR mk III Signature.

Regards, from Holland, Cor

Hey Gavin,

The VR 4 SR mk III is close to the VR 5 Annies.
With the grills on you can't see (nor hear :|) a difference.

Now there is a Limited Edition of the VR 4 SR mk III Signature in this beautiful piano black.

Like Cor, I've had them side by side. My opinion differs though. I own Mk3s but the Annies are better to my ears pretty much from top to bottom. The Annies to my ears worked better with a wider range of electronics from Tubes to SS of differing power from 90w to 220 watt amps I have on hand. Sonically I find the top end of the Annies more finely articulated and the bass quicker. There's a bit of a toss up when it comes to the midrange driver. The new AAD unit on the Mk3, while a complete BEAR to beak in is extremely clear sounding. The ones on Annie however are just as articulate but are more fleshed out. It's the difference between pinpoint imaging in free space and pinpoint imaging with a sense of the recording ambience within the spaces.

I dunno. If I try to look at it from a price perspective, I'd say they are very close. The differences I mentioned are small ones but to me they are very important. From a musical standpoint however I would say the Annies have it all over my Mk.3s.

Here comes the shocker. My main speakers are VR-9s right? Ok. These are basically VR-5 SEs on 'roids. No question about it. Some months back I pulled out a pair of fully broken in SEs as they were replaced by out of the box Annies. As Albert usually does, he had me scratching my head. Remember when I said I could live with Annies? This is why. So if Albert turned the 5 SE which still is a remarkable speaker into an Annie, how do I "Anniversarize" my VR-9s  as well as those VR-11s of Jimmy?

We'll find out in a few months. Two gentlemen will be coming to Manila.   :eyebrows: :eyebrows: :eyebrows:

Hey Jack,

You are quite right.

What I mean is the difference between the VR 5 Anniversary and the VR 4 SR mk III Signature, a limited edition Albert introduced lately.
They are more close to the Annies.

I will tell you more when they are broken in.

Regards,

Cor

Thanks Gavin,

Yes, I use a Sony HVR V1-E with a AKG 300B stereo pair on top for a realalistic sound.

After a few days I will be ready with part II.

Have a nice weekend.
