Am looking at these:

to connect my VPI Classic to phono inputs on my pre-amp. Any experience or impressions are appreciated.

There isn't any shielding, so you may have hum issues. How about some nice Bluejeans cables instead? I think you will have a real good antenna for picking up local radio stations on your new VPI.

Thanks, Wayner.

BJ are on my short list as well. Have you used them as phono IC's?

PS- stupid question I know, but on their (Bluejeans) website are the IC prices for ONE, or for a stereo PAIR of IC's?

Thanks a bunch,

Mark

I'm using them right now as I type, listening to Genesis, A Trick of the Tail on MOFI. Most excellent!

I prefer unshielded cables on line level devices.  If they add any noise, it's not distracting and the sound is better to me - un shielded.

However, with TT's (and I have a VPI Classic, as well) - they need shielded IC's the hum and noise is horrific, otherwise.  As Wayner indicated, don't get anything but shielded for your VPI

I'm using bj cable (their custom stuff bj1?) from my vpi hw19 to my phono inputs. Grado platinum cart. No hum. I'm not even using the grounding connection from tt to preamp. Maybe I just got lucky. Did I just curse Myself? Ugh
