« on: 6 Apr 2011, 02:10 am »
These are the 6h30 supertubes from Parts Connexion. They are a matched pair . I bought these in Nov 2010. I have sold the gear using these tubes.

they have been used ONE HOUR !  --- simply to test that they worked.

They are $99 each, new from Parts Connexion at this time.

$120 plus shipping for the pair.

I emailed Parts connexion asking if DP tubes are the same as DR tubes.

They replied that pre 1991 tubes may be labeled DR or DP --- same tube .................

One would be fine. To answer jtwrace, it seems to add more bass and nuance to my Dodd buffer compared to a 12AX7. I have a tube, but it has developed some issues. (My fault and not the tube BTW.)

It is good providing the circuit is optimized to use it. The 6H30-DR is the best.  I have 8 of them in my BAT preamplifier and another 16 as spares. :)

That makes sense, as the 12ax7 is a really poor choice for a buffer tube.  I am not suprised you get better bass with the 6h30. the 12ax7 has no current and therefore no real drive.

True. 1.89 watts versus 5.2 watts.
