Amazon is selling the Duet BNIB for an awesome price. I know all of u r thinking, why get it over the overhyped (IMO) TOUCH. I have all 3 - SB3/DUET and TOUCH and prefer this for its form factor, inconspicuousness,  and ease of use! I use outboard DACs anyway... all I need is a digital stream and with an aftermarket PS - the DUET does it well!

Thanks!  I already have a Duet.  But I just ordered the Squeezebox Boom from Amazon.  It also is $170 and has a $35 mail-in rebate if ordering from Amazon today.

It should be, but as with anything, there may be a glitch. How are you with diagnosing wifi issues?

If I was able to set up the original SB via wifi you should have no problem.    I do prefer the performance with the new Cat5e cable I recently installed.  Fewer dropout and reconnect issues.  I can't comment on the sound since I had the SB out of my system for quite a while and made a lot of changes. I do think the wired installation works smoother and connects and changes stations faster. I am using it for internet radio only.

It is pretty straightforward.
You do need a wifi connection or a hardwired one.
If you run into any issues, call tech support. They are very helpful, at least were back when I called them 2 years ago.
The remote is versatile and will control any of their devices. You can also sync different unit to play the same songs.
If u r tech savy, you can use your ipad or iphone with an app to control the units instead of the remotes.
You can see I am a huge fan.
That boom is an incredible deal. For $135 its a steal. I bought it for $199.00 only 5 months ago from Amazon.

Yes, bummer. Looks like the deal is finished.  I just found out my friend's older model SB failed.  I wanted to send him some good news. If someone finds a hot deal on SBs again I hope they will post it here.
