I read about these and they appear to be a cheap upgrade, but only if they work. Has anyone tried them?

Is Mass. an abbreviation for "massive quantities"?  :wine:  A critical piece of information is missing from your post.

Quite a few AC'ers have tried them since they are made by Jim Goudling, a member here. Great service, great price and they work for me on my Loreleis.

One of the best, inexpensive tweaks.  Apart from ground loops, there isn't anything that will make such a difference / improvement for the money.  Highly recommended!

I haven't used Jim's products, but I've been putting felt padding around my tweeters since the seventies.  So I endorse the use of heavy felt padding as an anti diffraction measure.

Sounds very fine. Do you have to use the pads with speakers grilles off?

Unless the manufacturer specifically states that the speaker was voiced with the grilles on, for critical listening it's best to leave them off. This product should make a positive difference either way, but I'm sure Jim could provide you with the best answer.

Wine Guy-  Hi.  I recommend that you do for critical listening tho I have fitted for listeners who prefer to return their grills.  Feel free to send me an email with your type speakers and I can be more specific.  Cheers.
